Surrounded by two hills of medium elevation, the Bay of San Juan of the South lodges the playera city more visited by surfistas. Its urban helmet offers one complete one and varied tourist supply, and in its municipal zone surf practices, the fishing, sighting of whales, canopy, yoga, cavalcades and other sports. Between its beaches of wild atmosphere or with infrastructure, Beach emphasizes the Refuge of Wild Life the Flower.
The area that was once was a calm and colorful town of fishermen, is now one of the top tourist destinations frequently visited by national and foreign tourists. The city of San Juan of the South has practically everything: hotels, restaurants, bars, clubs, schools of language, postal office, a central base, a municipal market, a port, a station of police and the famous bay that its name gives him. Their celebrations occur in honor to San Juan Baptist and Vigen of the 
Carmen, the 24 of June and 16 of Julio respectively.
This is the obligatory shutdown of travellers whom they look for to practice surf and to relax in almost virgin beaches. One point that is worth the trouble to visit when it is in the city is the statue of the Jesus of the Mercy, located in the top of the hill upper of the bay and constructed in 2008. Thence one has a beautiful panoramic Vista of San Juan of the South and its environs. In addition, in the base of the sculpture one is a viewpoint and a small chapel in where the process of construction of the statue is described.
